  • There is an update to version 3.3.0 – but this seems to be made very quick and dirty. There is no automatic update for the Pro-Version, it has to be overwritten via FTP. Even if version 3.3.0 is shown in the plugin list, it offers an other update to version 3.3.0 and gives the flag of a pending update. But: If you click in WP to make this update, you will get the version 3.2.14!

I really like master slider very much – but this is really bad!

The support regarding this issue has been abysmal. I think it’s time to move on from Masterslider.

I wish that the links on the bottom of the MasterSlider website were updated to point to the correct support forum URL. The new one is connected to Envato I think.

We got the premium plugin a few weeks ago. Eventually happy with its performance and adjusted it just to get a good lazy-loaded slider.

However the slider does not work correctly on Linux Firefox, it tends to lock up on a very specific jQuery issue. No response in 17 days on this inside the new support forum.

Disappointing outcome here on these things. It feels like this is becoming abandonware overall.

I’m looking for an alternative to Masterslider, and in doing so discovered that Slider Revolution is also having issues with WordPress 5.5. Is there a slider that anyone here can recommend that has the same features but isn’t having the same issues as Masterslider?

Stupid support really, this is a BLOCKER issue it should be fixed ASAP and they should reply to our messages and help and there are no updates on this forum or official. No responses by email…
I would like to find a new slider as well, don’t happy with such things.

Here’s a good article that explains what’s happening and how you can, in most cases, get your site working correctly again until your plugin/theme creator can get around to updating their code:

    Good luck!

    Dear @tom5940,

Your plugin suggestion worked, and you have resolved an issue that was on the verge of causing my hair to turn grey and fallout at the same time.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH

@semcosupport – thanks! Glad I could help. Just keep in mind the plugin is meant to be a temporary solution until your plugin creators can get around to updating on their end! Rock on!

The fix the ensure jQuery Migrate is still installed after the WordPress 5.5 update allows the MasterSlider slides to continue working but we are finding that ours cannot be edited.

    Is anyone else finding this?

We are running the “latest” MasterSlider 3.3

Hey @chickwithbob – It’s still working for me and I’ve gone ahead and deactivated the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper plugin and everything is working fine. Are we talking about the same plugin?

“Master Slider is the most advanced responsive HTML5 WordPress slider plugin with touch swipe navigation that works smoothly on devices too.

I’m currently on version 3.4.0, and it’s working on WordPress version 5.5. I ran into issues trying the automatic update, but that was resolved by uninstalling and deleting the plugin from the wordpress plugin menu, and uploading the newest version from Envato.

Wordpress 5.5.1 is supposed to provide a band aid type solution so that plugin & theme devs can bring their code up to speed. I don’t think I’m updating to 5.5.1 now that everything is working for a while.

I finally updated a site in a staging area to both 5.5 and the latest Masterslider and am noticing a peculiar formatting issue with text on an overlay layer. I’ve had zero luck with their support area so I thought I’d see if anyone here had experience with this.

Thank you, Tom! Tom5940’s (@tom5940) solution worked for me, but only with this extra tweak: Tools > jQuery Migrate > jQuery Version > Legacy 1.12.4-wp (rather than the Default from WordPress setting) (as provided by lucianogian (@lucianogian) on this page: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/wp-5-6-migration-plugin-doesnt-restore-normal-functioning/)
