• I was so excited to switch to this plugin for directories on my sites and it seems it would work great if you use their themes, but what I noticed was the plugin reset/overridden my theme settings for font size for the whole site to 15px! Im using Astra theme and it is supposed to work with it.

    1. for UX it’s bad in 2021/2022 to use 15px for your whole site. Horrible accessibility and so last century.

    2. Why would you set the font size on the body tag in the plugin? they could do that in one of their themes or if in the plugin set with different specificity so it doesn’t change all font on my 2,000-page site, just crazy! The only way I could fix it is for me to add “!important” to the body tag in the child theme and that would make it almost impossible to change other font cases, tons of specificity problems! This in my opinion is just lazy coding unless the goal was solely for you to upgrade to one of their themes.

So if you are happy with using their themes only or aren’t concerned with having Accessibility issues with your site then it looks like it might be a great plugin. I don’t fit those categories and nor should most other sites either.

  • Hello,

We are really sorry to hear of the difficulties you have had with one of our themes. However, Adding a separate class to the body for maintaining and loading different CSS is a kind of good practice to avoid conflicts.

You know there are tons of themes out there and compatibility issues can be raised depending on the various theme we use in our daily life. We can easily fix this tiny little UX issue on your end, Have you tried contacting support by the way through here: directorist.com/contact?

I would request you to contact support first and allow support a chance to fix it before reviewing any plugin. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

    Thank you!

On the beginning I had a few little problems too. Every plugin can have conflicts with a theme or an other plugin. But from my experience the support is really helpful and walked the extra mile to make sure everything worked like I wanted it. My site is with a kadence theme and this works grate, they even wrote me extra css for changing font in links and make the weblink to a button. The support was always helpful, even when I had stupid or extra questions. They explained everything easy for me or fixed it by them self on my site. It deffently works with other themes then their own. Maybe there are only some tweaks necessary. When you give them a change I am sure they find a solution.
