Don't use this plugin

  • This plugin technically works. It is not broken or anything it just won’t do anything you need it to do practically. You can’t sort. There is no page template for the actual staff members. It literally just outputs a list of post titles, nothing else. If you have a large amount of members do not use this plugin as there is no pagination. Its like somebody started making a plugin and just got bored a quarter of the way in to it and just quit.

    I’m sorry this plugin doesn’t do exactly what you want yet. I agree with you that if you have a large group of staff members that you want to showcase on your site that this plugin isn’t the best solution – it doesn’t try to be. Its feature set is (and will remain) limited because I wanted to create a truly “simple” staff list.

    And the plugin is certainly not abandoned. It’s just a free plugin that doesn’t command my (or any other volunteer’s) complete attention. ?? Myself and the other developers in the Nashville area that maintain the plugin have been extremely busy planning WordCamp Nashville that’s coming up soon, having babies, taking on new full-time jobs, etc.

    Once everything settles down here in Nashville, we fully plan on continuing to develop for Simple Staff List. If you’d like to get involved, you’re more than welcome to follow the project on Github and contribute.

    Hi Brett.

    We have Simple Staff list plugged in our tennis clubs web-site.

    While updating WP version to 4.7.3, the plugin functionality disappeared. Noted afterwards that highest WP-version compatibility is 4.4.8.
    Two choices then – roll back WP-version (unwanted because of security) or shift the plugin.

    To avoid this in the future, would you recommend for us to switch to another plugin?

    I’m using the latest version of this plugin on WordPress 4.7.3 without issue. Could you open a new Support topic and share a link to a page on your site where the staff list should be?
