Don't want my users to automatically be subscribers.

When I installed Mailpoet, I see that it has imported all of my 3000 customers as “subscribers”. I don’t want to send email to those customers, rather I want to import a list of my current newsletter subscribers from Mailchimp. If I select them, and then “Delete Subscribers”, will they also be deleted all together as users, or will it only delete them in the Mailpoet section?
