Don’t want slider to show on phone

Hi! I want the slider to just show on a computer and a tablet, not on a phone. What’s the easiest way to do so? I’ve tried @media only screen and (max-width: 768px)
.metaslider {display: none;} but can’t get it to work. How do I properly enqueue the stylesheet from the slider into my functions.php in my child-theme? Thanks in advance and thank you for a great slider!/Selma
