    Hi,

I’m not sure if anyone will be able to do with this but I figured I would give it a try anyway.

I have a site that’s been set up and running for almost a year, and it’s been going fine and has several hundred orders fulfilled. Recently however, we had a case where a client was double billed.

The issue is that from the jigoshop end there’s very little sign of anything that went wrong. The only thing is that the order was processed quite a while after it was received. So the order post was (for example) posted at 2pm on March 1st. And the order was approved by the payment gateway the next day. This hasn’t happened in any of the other orders and is the only sign of anything that went wrong. The payment processing company is supposed to avoid double billing but it is still possible if the timestamp on the orders is different, and in this case, all the information was the same for the two payments except for the timestamp.

So I don’t necessarily know if this is a problem with jigoshop or with the payment gateway. I am using https://www.jigoshop.com/product/moneris-eselectplus-payment-gateway/

But any information that people might have would be helpful as I’m not too well versed in how these processes work.

    Thanks,
    Ian.

  • Hi Ian,
Did you asked the user how it looked from his/her perspective? Trying to purchase 2x? refreshing browser window with purchase the next day or something like that?
Let us know if you’d know such details. In general, there are security tools to prevent such situation within code and we have not other notification of such issue, so I’d suggest not to worry much about this one-time occurance.
