Double click product mobile

Good question. Sometimes when there is a hover state applied to an item, the first tap on a mobile devices only triggers that hover state. Often when you have to tap twice, that is the reason why.

I would try disabling the hover state for your products and see if they open on the first click. You could also try temporarily using the Storefront theme to see if it works with only one click too.
