Double Image issue and Missing Text issue

  • I have two issues I would appreciate help with. https://www.DashKitten.com

    Question 1.

    When I post an image within a blog post, it does not appear on the general collection of posts page unless I add it as a featured image – then it appears twice. Is there an adjustment or setting I need to change so my images appear correctly?

    Question Two.

    There is an adjustable sliding button in the ‘Customise’ section that allows us to add a preview of blog text. I have the slider but it will not work. Is there anything else I need to adjust elsewhere in WordPress? At the moment My blog shows Posts and an image for each post and no text.

    I would appreciate your help as I am enjoying the theme otherwise.

    Nikki G. I have been working with a friend who came up with a simple suggestion. I will explain it, although someone else may clarify or do it better later.

    The image I would ‘usually’ put as my Feature Image should not ALSO be within the blog at the top as well. It sounds obvious if you knew it but I didn’t. It seems in WP-Spirit whatever appears above your initial text appears simultaneously with any ‘featured image’. Add images below the text and your featured image appears automatically at the top.

    I can’t give a more technical explanation but at least I can try to pass on my help!

    I may have that on some of my older pages at https://www.DashKitten.com if you look (I need to go and reformat them!) so you can see it happens to others too!

    I have asked my friend to explain how she managed to make a text ‘Excerpt’ box appear under my post and I will get back if I can.

    I did that, but then my featured image can’t have a caption or be integrated into the text, it just centers itself awkwardly at the top of the post. Is there a line of code I can edit to fix that?
