When a new user signs up, the link to Subscription Confirmation only works if I’m logged into WP and use the same browser – it goes to the subscription confirmation page and the user becomes subscribed. If I use a private window or a different browser (where I’m not logged into WP), the link goes to the home page and the user is still pending.

Hi @sigh1plugins1 , thanks for using Mail Mint.

Can you help us out with the following details:

    1. How did you test the link? Was it via a double opt-in email sent when you added the contact in pending status, or was it by sending a test email when editing the double opt-in email?
    2. Which browser did you test it with?
    3. Can you check the merge tag you used to place the subscription link?

Once you get back to us, we will try to assist you promptly.

    Thanks.

    1. I have double opt-in email activated. I filled out the subscription form on the site. On the MM dashboard it shows the user as “pending”. I then go to the email and click the confirm subscription button. No matter what browser I use, I am taken to the homepage of my website instead of the confirmation page. If I’m logged into wp-admin on that browser, it goes to the confirmation page and MM dashboard shows user as “subscribed”.
    2. I’ve tested multiple mobile and desktop browsers. Chrome, Safari, DuckDuckGo.
    3. The subscription link is the default one that is pre-populated ({{link.subscribe}})
    4. Interestingly, I found the same behavior with a basic text link I put in an email. It always goes to the home page instead of the actual page it’s linked to. Unless I’m logged into wp-admin.
    5. Another interesting thing I found is that sometimes if I delete a link (for example {{link.subscribe}}) and just put it back in, it starts working. But then it stops again. I’ve tried flushing Redis and page caches but it those don’t seem to make a difference.

Basically it seems that MM is generating links with wp-admin in the path.

Also, sometimes when trying to submit the customer facing form, it gives me a red error message: “reCaptcha is required”. Sometimes is doesn’t and works fine.

I’m using reCaptcha on contact forms on the site and they never fail.

Ok, I think I may have figured it out. When using a browser with AdBlock, it seems to sometimes affect reCaptcha and also the way MM generates links. Using a browser with no plugins or extra security features, things appear to be working as intended. Still testing….

Alright, links are working as expected now. Adblock seems to do weird things with the web form – sometimes reCaptcha doesn’t work and MM generates weird email links.

However, I’m getting 2,3, sometimes 4 Welcome emails. Any clue what that’s about? There’s (obviously) just one in the automation.

Okey dokey, flushed Redis and now I’m getting a single Welcome email.

Sorry for the noise, just needed to get this up and running ASAP.
