I just downloaded this plugin and set it up to post to FB and Twitter.

I manually published one of our posts to both networks.

In each of them I see the content of the post twice. One right below the heading and the second right below it with a pic on the left.

How do we remove one of these so it only displays once when posted?

Also how do we selected which pic will be displayed? In FB it appears to show part of the header from our WordPress site. On Twitter it doesn’t display any pic but has an empty box next to the text of the post.

While trying to figure this out I noticed the following.

I am not sure this is the correct location but I noticed that there is a field on the Social Meta Data tab for an image URL. But this field as well as the Title and Description fields can NOT be edited. and I am logged in as the admin.

Is this the field that must be changed to display a pic with the text of the post on FB and Twitter. If so how do I get into the field to enter the url for the image?

    Thanks

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Issues with images and the title/description of your posts often caused by missing or conflicting metadata (open graph tags). The social media will always display the information they find in the source code of your post on your website.
The following guides show you exactly how to check your source code:
What are open graph tags and what do I use them for?
Link Preview – Troubleshooting checklist and solutions for setting Open Graph Tags

Please be so kind as to make sure to use only one plugin for setting your open graph tags so the social networks can retrieve your content correctly.

If you want me to take a closer look at this it would be great if you could send me the link of a post that was shared on social media where you are facing issues.

May I ask you if it’s possible to tell me a little bit more about how you proceed in Blog2Social so I can check this for you?

I’m looking forward to your reply.

    Hi. Thanks for your reply.

I think I have the image issue addressed. We use the All In One SEO plugin and I was able to change the image/tags there.

But I still have a question as to why the post text appears twice on both the twitter and FB posts.

Here are a couple of screen shots of the twitter and fb posts. I changed the name of the site and images because we are still testing the actual site

    thanks

    Hello,

    Thanks for your feedback.

If you are using another plugin for setting your open graph tags, it could be possible that it overwrites the changes which you have made in Blog2Social.

The text which is displayed as “og:title” and “og:description” is from the source code on your website. You can check this with the open graph guide that I’ve attached in my previous answer.

If you want me to check your source code of this post / your website, please be so kind as to attach a link that you want to post on social media.

I’m looking forward to your reply.

    Hi thanks for your reply.

    I still have two problems.

I removed the entries for FB and Twitter on the All in One plugin for Social networks so there should be no conflicts now.

The first is as I indicated before except this only happens on the FB posting now. The text is displayed twice and I can’t see where a change must be made to remove this. On the Twitter posting it only displays once.

    https://www.prositeltd.com/fbtest.jpg

The other issue I have is that on the Twitter posting it displays the correct text (once) followed by a link to the post’s page on our site and a large image instead of a thumbnail as is displayed on the FB posting. And the image is not a link to our page.

For some reason this worked correctly only one time (small picture to the left of the text) when I had the entries in the All in One plugin but I can not make it happen again even though I tried multiple settings in that plugin and finally removed all the settings there as I indicated above and still the Twitter posting displays text, a link followed by a large image.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

Please be so kind as to attach a link to a post that you have published on Twitter and Facebook if you want me to check the source code of your website.

    Regarding the Twitter image:
You can adjust the displayed image size in your Blog2Social settings. Please follow this path:
“Blog2Social” -> “Settings” -> “Social Meta Data” -> “The default card type to use” -> “Summary”

I’m looking forward to your reply.

I followed your instructions to try to change the image size and this appears to be part of the SMART add on. I can not type into any of those fields to make a change.

Or is there something else that must be done?

btw the images we are sending to both FB and Twitter are 144×144. They display correctly on FB but only show as a much larger (and distorted) image on twitter.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your feedback.

That’s correct, changing these settings is included in the Premium Smart subscription.

I would not recommend posting images in 144×144 format since they do not meet the image requirements for most social media networks. Images that are too large or too small might appear blurry or will not be posted at all.
The following guide shows you exactly:
What is the best image size for my social media posts?

Please let me know if it worked out or if you have any other questions.
