• I recently realized that the analytics events plugin was causing analytics to double track page views and events. Upon further investigation, I realized I had not set it up properly. In general settings, I had accidentally told it to add a universal analytics tag, even though I already had a tag installed. My question is, now that I have changed it to ‘none’, will it stop double-tacking events? In other words, will it remove the extraneous tag?

  • I had the same issue and also see that “universal tag” was selected.
Did the selection to “none” fix your issue?

    Thanks!

@btomek I apologize for the extremely late response.

The selection to “none” did fix the double tracking of analytics. However, now the events I’ve set up within WP Google Analytics Events Plugin are not tracking.
