• Hi all,

I am experiencing a problem with my WordPress.
Yesterday i installed JH 404 Logger, because in Google Webmastertools, a list of crawlerrors showed up.

These wrong urls, are causing 404’s, and show up in Google Webmastertools as crawlerrors, and in JH 404 Logger, as 404’s.

The “double” urls look like this:
    hxxp://www.mydomain.nl/2011/04/glutamine-caps/www.mydomain.nl/category/energie/

How can i stop/fix these wrong urls?
And do these urls harm my SEO?

    Tnx in advance.

    Grtz,

    PS:
I already tried to remove the categories from the sitemap, because the 2nd url in the error, always seems to be a category url, but that does not seem to solve the problem.

  • Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting. If this works, then review Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

I am not using a custom permalink setup, just the month and name option.

I guess that should not be te problem?

    Woohoo, i solved the problem.
I myself caused the errors with the “double” links/urls.

I recently installed a plugin called BloggerHigh SEO, because i wanted to optimize my posts for better SEO.
This plugin also checks if the post has an internal link to another post/topic/category in it, which seems better for SEO.

Placing an internal link into the post, is the thing where i did made the mistakes.
To place an internal link in the post(s), i used the full link/url to the internal page/post, for example:
    hxxp://www.mydomain.nl/category/energie/

That was the problem, because when i use the full link, including http, for some reason it messed up the internal link, and caused the 404’s.

I edited all the internal links, and removed the hxxp://www.mydomain.nl, so that only /category/energie/ was left as the internal link.
That solved the problem, and it still works 100%.
