Doubt about nested comments

Hello, I am currently managing a blog for a client that has activated the option for nested comments. The client asked me to disable this option, but before I do it I have a doubt, what will happen to the already nested comments before disabling the option?. They will be reorder as normal comments or disappear from the blog?
