“Hello Daniel, good morning! How are you?

I’m in the testing phase of the WordPress plugin and would like to clarify some doubts, please.

1- Is it possible for user-marked categories on the map to be saved when logged in? For example, I have 10 categories, and the user marks 3 of them. Every time they log in, can these categories be pre-defined based on the user’s previous choices?

2- Can I post more than one photo when adding a location, and can I do this after the location is added?

3- When I open the site on a mobile device, in the popup window, there is a close button. However, if I press the back button, it goes back to the last visited site. Is it possible to make the popup smaller or change this function?

4- The text that says “Open in Google Maps” is the subtitle text, correct? Does this depend on the user’s registration, or can it be standardized in some way?

5- In the popup, there is a “Read more” link to open the full page. Can I translate this?

6- Is the popup editable? For example, if I want to add the option to “favorite” the location, can I do that without allowing the user to enter the page?

7- Can the user see on the map the places they registered and eventually the places they “favorited”? Is it possible to use filters like Crocoblock’s Jet Engine or another plugin for this?

8- I saw in the article that to create public pages, the site theme must be FSE. I am having difficulty editing headers and footers with Elementor for this type of theme due to a ‘the contente()’ error, as the ‘Hello Elementor’ theme is not FSE. Do you have any recommendations for a theme that would be suitable for this project?

Thank you very much, and congratulations on the development!”

    Hi Junior,

    1. No, that’s not part of my plugin.
    2. Currently only a single photo is possible. But this is already a feature request from other users as well. So it will be possible in the future.
    3. Yes, you can choose if the popup should be fullscreen or not.
    4. Correct. The text is customizable (Subtitle field)
    5. Yes. This is translatable with the usual translation plugins.
    6. With a bit of PHP understanding you can fully customize the content of the location popups. Here is an article.
    7. No, not part of my plugin. I guess it would be possible with a custom solution. I will provide a new Hook for filtering the locations with an upcoming update.
    8. FSE is not necessary. You can do this with Elementor as well.

Thanks for using Open User Map and best regards,
    Daniel

Hello, good morning, thank you very much, Daniel!

I was pleased with the responses and have already managed to make some changes. Only the part of editing the PopUp I can’t figure out. I was able to create favorites with Jet Engine and insert them on the locations page and on a general page. But for the pop-up, I still haven’t understood how to do it. You sent me the files to edit through PHP, but with no experience, would you recommend any tutorial, please?

    Thank you very much!

This is the only tutorial I have on hand. Maybe you can ask someone with PHP skills to help you.

    Best regards,
    Daniel
