• I installed 2.9 to see what it was like and forgot about it, how can I downgrade to 2.8? I have blog posts that I don’t want to lose! Can I just back the DB up and install 2.8?

  • delete all the 2.9 files EXCEPT
    wp-config.php
    and
    wp-content folder and files
upload 2.8 files being careful not to overwrite saved files
    that’s it

What do you mean ‘saved’ files?

    wp-config.php
    and
    wp-content folder and files

    these

Hi Sam. I tried this but it didnt work!? Well, it did, but now I’m having issues:

    Akisment – “cannot find server”

Themes & Plugins sections are having errors “An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request.”

WordPress is telling me “You have the latest version of WordPress. You do not need to upgrade” when clearly I don’t.

    Please help!
    Thanks
    K

Don’t know if this helps, but the same thing happened to me after upgrading to 2.9 – a completely blank admin screen (though View Source showed me some stuff).

I had just uploaded & activated “WordPress Backup” by liquid – and with a friend’s help, I FTP’ed in and removed that plugin. Refreshed, problem solved.

Whew! Hope that helps, and good luck!

Firecatsue – That sounds like the issue that I’m having – everything is ‘not found’ or ‘0’ on my Admin screens when I obviously have posts because they are showing up on my Home Page.

Even my Pages are not being found. Was this what you experienced after upgrading to 2/9? Thx.
