Downgrades to 3.7

I have both this plugin and WordPress Beta Tester. Last night my test site was upgraded from 3.7-RC2 to 3.8-alpha, as expected. Later today, as I visited the admin, there was a nag saying WordPress 3.7 was available. Shortly after that I was “downgraded” to 3.7-RC1 and got an email from Automatic Updater saying “We’ve successfully upgraded WordPress from version 3.8-alpha to version 3.7-RC1-25851, the latest nightly build!” A few minutes ago the site was upgraded to 3.7.
The Beta Tester plugin is set to bleeding edge nightly builds.
Is the confusion in “WordPress Beta Tester” or in this plugin?
