Download after form completion?

When i remove the Email field from the contact form, i get the error message:

Warning: readfile(): Filename cannot be empty in /wp-content/plugins/email-before-download/download.php on line 236

And putting an email field back in doesnt resolve it.
I have to create a new contact form in order to get it back working.

Is there a trick to make EBD work just on any form completion (even if there is no email field) ?

Because EBD stores stuff in the database & then looks things up by id# (like the contact_form id number and download_id numbers), it is possible to get your configuration stored into the database, then go change something, but EBD doesn’t know it changed because the IDs are the same.

That is why you will often see me tell people to go make an entirely new form, reupload their download file so it gets a new ID, make a new shortcode, and put the new shortcode on a new page. That ensures that everything is new & nothing is being pulled from the database from something you tried an hour ago or a year ago or whatever…
