    Hi,

I did my first backup (files, folders and databases) with the free version of the plugin.

It works perfectly. I was able to download the “tar.gz” file on my computer with FTP, unzip it and see the content. Great.

I was also able to delete the backup on the server with the “Delete” button in “Backup History” to see if it works.

But… it seems that the “Download” (in Backup History) doesn’t work for me (as I said I downloaded the file with FTP … with FileZilla).

I’ve tried the “Download” button with Firefox and Chrome, with two different computers, nothing happens. The file (backup) was checked before pressing the button.

    Thank you !

    Robert

    Hello,

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Did you check if the browser was blocking the download, because sometimes browser blocks download if the download button gets clicked multiple times, and may we know how big was your backup?

    Hi,

    My backup was 845 MB.

For you info, recently I downloaded a hugh 25GB backup made with cPanel, with the same browser, on another website.

    And…

I installed the Backuply plugin on another website, the backup was around 50MB, and the button worked.

There is one thing I realized : the button was (in fact) working on both websites (845MB and 50MB backup), but I didn’t have any cue it was working.

When we click the download button, we don’t see a sign in the browser that the file is downloading.

It’s only at the end of the download that we have a sign. At least, with my browser.

The fact is we can easily press the download button, again and again, thinking that nothing is happening because we don’t have any cue on the browser side.

But if I download, with the same browser, a backup made with cPanel (or another backup plugin I’ve tried), the browser is telling me right away, the “work in progress download”.

I don’t know if you can do something about this.

At the present, I find it easier to download the backup with FileZilla because I can see the progress of the download.

    Thank you !

    Hi,

    Thank you for your answer.

Yes, as you said, a “download button more interactive” may help.

I think it may prevent some confusion when we expect a certain behavior from the browser.

    Thank you !
