Download categories not showing in menu

Hi.

I’ve been using the Downloads Monitor shortcodes in pages and posts, and they work fine. However, I’d like to manage the downloads without having to create a page or a post for each one.

In the description of the plugin, it says the downloads are handled in the same way as posts, but I can’t find a “Downloads Categories” list in the WordPress “Edit Menus” section.

How can I set up a WordPress category with short descriptions and thumbnails to show in the front end?
