• Hi there,

I’m not a WP specialist or programmer and I would like to know how I can easily download the product database from Woocommerce into Excel, and then upload the corrected data back in my site.

I’ve read about the CSV import but how do I download the data first?

    Thanks for your help.

  • It is not that “easy” if you are not a database/sql/wp specialist. That is why there are some extensions for that exact functionality, premium ofcourse.
    For example:
    https://www.woothemes.com/products/ordercustomer-csv-export/
    https://www.woothemes.com/products/customerorder-csv-import-suite/
    https://www.woothemes.com/products/product-csv-import-suite/
    https://www.woothemes.com/products/customerorder-xml-export-suite/
    etc…

Because, the “product” or “order” does not have their own tables, they are some kind of post type which should be collected from the same database tables according to their values/variables, etc… So the built-in WordPress basic database import/export is not enough; some extras are needed to configure.

Try looking at such kind of plugins/extensions.

    Ok, thanks for the links.

I thought WP was database-based… I’ll look into it.

Yes, WP is database based but the main WP depends on blog-post, and Woocommerce is a workaround using post-type functionality.
They are not having their own tables, just getting from a big table, according to their variables.
    etc…

Pitty. The only thing I want is to download ID’s, product name and price, then correct the name, change its price in Excel (same ID) and then upload them for update and keep the rest of the info attached to the ID intact (photo, description, category). If I can do that “easily” I’ll be more than happy.

Maybe another way would be to start all over again? i.e. create a new CSV file from Excel with the right info and upload a new product base? Is that possible? (I guess I would have to manually attach photos though).
