    Hello,

    In WP/Woo on the downloadable products I put a limit of 30 days and 5 downloads. I has also been set in Woo that the order info is deleted after 2 weeks as we do not want to keep customer personal information in the db.

    However, what this seems to do is make it so the person can no longer download the product using the link after 14 days.

    What kind of workaround do you suggest in this type of scenario where the company wants to limit the length of personal information kept on the site db but also be able to allow people to download after the fact if needed?

    Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I understand you’re looking for a solution that allows your customers to continue downloading their purchased products while still adhering to your policy of limiting the storage of personal data.

    The challenge here is that WooCommerce links downloadable products to specific orders, and if the order data is deleted, the link to the download is also removed.

    In order to do that you need to find a pliugin which allows you to separate the download limits from order data deletion. This will let you keep the download restrictions in place (like the number of downloads or days) while deleting customer data after the desired period.

    Alternatively, you can use a custom code to achieve that functionality. By default, we do not provide support for customizations.
