Hello, there seems to be an issue in that, the link to “download” the completed backup is incorrect (after clicking on the “download” backup link). My wp site is in a subdirectory named “wp”. the download link is generating a url which is not including the subdir, and therefore the download link generates a 404 not found error.

it seems you’re using the “site url” and not the “wp address url” to generate the correct link after clicking the “download” link. if I edit the generated (incorrect) url to insert the “wp” subdir, it finds the zip file.

    my site url settings are:
    wp address url is: https://2121kuhiotower.com/wp
    site url is: https://2121kuhiotower.com
actual location on server is: /public_html/2121kuhiotower.com/wp

clicking the backup "download" link generates the following url (which is incorrect). it starts with:
       https://2121kuhiotower.com/wp-content/backupwordpress-....

    it should start with:
       https://2121kuhiotower.com/wp/wp-content/backupwordpress-....

hope you can solve this soon. thanks again for a great plugin!

Hey there – the developers are working on a fix for this – thank you for bringing it to our attention! ??

I’ll drop you an update here when they release that!

    Kat

Same issue – thanks for the response – will subscribe to this thread to know when fix available and, since backups are being created, I am downloading via SFTP until then ??

This should have been fixed in the last release, guys – I’m marking this as resolved but please just comment back if it didn’t fix the issue for you, okay?

This seems been solved a year ago. But I am having the same issue at present with having updated to all the latest version. WP-4.7.2, BackUpWordPress-3.6.3.1

    Thanks!

That’s interesting because you’re the second person to note this @srmahmud2 – can you verify that the problem is exactly the same? IE – that it is creating a link that doesn’t include a subdirectory that your WP installation is installed within?

    Thanks,
    Kat

Ohho! I am affraid it’s not. the complete download link is missing in my case. Please see screen shot here

Please be noted this installation is also in a subfolder. ie https://example.com/newfolder/wp-installation

    Thanks,
    Mahmud

Okay that is crazy – I haven’t seen this before. Can you do me a favor and consider enabling support for your site? That will allow me to see a bit more server information via our support module.

You can follow this guide on how to do so: https://bwp.hmn.md/knowledge-base/how-to-enable-support/

Just be sure to click on the ‘support’ button again after enabling to send us a message. When you do that just remind me of your issue and I’ll be happy to help you troubleshoot.

    Thanks so much!
    Kat

Hey @kat the Support is enabled now. Let me know when you have update.
    Thanks!

Hey there – did you send me a message through the support module? I don’t actually see a message from you ??

    Thanks,
    Kat
