Download Link Never Starts

    I have EDD – Free Download installed. When I click on the link to download, it goes to the page that says “Your Download will start shortly…..” but it never does and seems to keep looping or refreshing. When I click the “Direct Link” it seems to loop again and nothing.

    Also I was working with Pippin last night and he found a bug in the membership short code of the Free Download plugin. You will have to get the specifics from him as he worked on it.

    I think I may now what is wrong. My problem is that I don’t know why it happened and I need to know why. It’s very concerning because I only have about 3 test items, but if I were to have several hundred items it could be very bad. Basically all the files I had setup for my free downloads have somehow vanished. Don’t know if it was due to an update or not, but that could be very bad.

    Also have another problem, now that I have my downloads working, after I enter all the user information on the member page and click the register button, it just reloads and empties all the text box fields and I never get an email to finish registration, so I can never get to the download file.

    Please let me know where I should look.

    Hi Moe Joe, about the missing file issue, I don’t think it’s caused by the EDD FD extension, since the extension doesn’t perform any add or delete action on files data at all, I would suggest you to try reproduce the issue by re-doing what maybe the cause.

    About the member page issue, upon it’s activation EDD FD extension will create several pages including member page and save those pages IDs to indicate in what page the registration logic will perform, and you could assign those pages in EDD FD settings under EDD Misc settings page:

    Please make sure first that you have assigned the correct page as member page in the settings.

    The bug with the short code is simply a lack of closing DIV tags.

    I believe I have the settings correct, and I have the correct page as the member page. Where should I check next?

    The issue was caused by incorrect method of page id retrieval in our code, and has been fixed in the later version, thanks to Moe Joe for helping us identifying the issue.
