Download links for Music files

  • Firstly I thank the author for this fantastic free plugin.
    It serves a major requirement of many WP users.

    I have three questions.

    1) How can I add a download link in the list of music files.
    ( right-click to save also does not work for mp3 files as it does for other files.)
    2) Is there a way to auto generate the thumbnails in Album ?
    3) Is there a way to represent the Album just by a featured thumbnail which when clicked opens the gallery in lightbox where one can browse the other images ?

    I will be grateful to author if above features exist or are made available in next version.

    Thank you for the high rating.

    Answers
    1)The access from the PC, can not download. It is planned to be given a download button.
    However, you can download it since the direct access that it is access from the smartphone.

    2)Please be in uploads directory of WordPress, the directory that you specify in the “topurl”. Please generate a thumbnail using the my plug-in “Media from FTP”.

    There are other ways. Upload via FTP to create at once on the PC.

    3)Use of the lightbox, please use the my plug-in “Boxers and Swipers”.

    Thanks for your quick reply to my three questions.

    1) I look forward to you adding the download button for music files in next release.

    2) I appreciate your suggestion of using “Media from FTP”. It is a possible way to automatically create thumbnails.
    But my suggestion was a bit different.
    What I meant by automatically create thumbnails was that “Gallery Link” itself should create the thumbnails on the fly when rendering the Album.
    That would be more convenient because then there will be no hassle of maintaining the thumbnails separately. Also it would not be necessary to place the uploaded media files within the uploads folder.

    3) Regarding lightbox, I know that lightbox works. My suggestion was regarding the representation of the entire album by a single featured image instead of an array of all the images in the album. This will make the album presentation compact within a post or page.

    I think unnecessary the download button. Because, can be downloaded by right-clicking in most browsers.

    I find it necessary otherwise on web page I need to write explanation that says “please right=click and save to hard disk”.
    Many users are not savvy enough to know that.

    In gallery what I meant by featured image was a single image representative of whole gallery. Something like a polaroid stack set.
