• Hello,

I have a product with multiple variables, which can be purchased at the sime time, and I have my text on the Download Notes section.

In the case my user purchase more than one option, the download notes are being repeated in each variable and does not make much sense, since the notes are common.

How can I override the {download_list} short code in order to display the notes just once under the list of options?

    Thank you very much

  • Hi @francescag

    Thanks for the detailed response.

    For your query,
    1) How can I override the {download_list} short code in order to display the notes just once under the list of options?

Ans – I think you can only write the notes just once in a purchase receipt mail. Logically {download_list} are the cart products and each product will have its own note.

So we can not group it to display the notes just once for the same product.

Thank you for answering. What you say it’s true, the only situation in which the result sound awkward is when you have a user which purchase two or more for variables for the same download. In that case notes should be combined. Or, even better, as website owner we should be allowed to assign different notes to the different variables. This would be better but directly involves EDD development team. I thought and hoped that a medium solution was possible.

    Hi @francescag

We can do one thing. We can create a new EDD email tag which will be a copy of {download_list} and we can achieve our result.

Kindly allow me some day to check the possibility. I hope we can find out some solution.

So you are saying: let’s modify {download list} removing the output of notes and let’s create a new {email shortcode} by copying the original {download list} and keeping only the notes. Correct? That’s a brilliant solution! I hope your checks will give a positive return to this idea! Thank you @pratik-jain

Oh @pratik-jain, my fault, sorry if I wasn’t clear about that!
I just thought your idea was a good solution, but I’m not skilled enough to do that on my own. Your help would be appreciated and needed to solve, if you can!

    Hi @francescag

Please give me some time. I will setup the same thing on my side and debug the issue deeply.

I will try my best to provide the solution ??

    Sure! Thank you very much!

    Hi @francescag

Thanks for your patience. I need your little help.

Can you please provide me the screenshot of your product setup? so I can understand the buying behavior and try to create the same scenario at my end.

As per my knowledge you have a product with ‘Enable variable pricing’ and ‘Enable multi-option purchase mode. Allows multiple price options to be added to your cart at once’ options enabled.

So when user purchase more than one variation for the same product then the download motes display individually below each variation file right?
