    It doesn’t look like anything the plugin is doing is wrong.

    Did you test with the same browser both times? Embedding is dependent on browser support for PDF in <object> tags.

    It seems, the problem only occurs in Firefox.
    I tested Safari, the PDF-File is displayed correctly.

    Yes, browser support for embedded PDFs varies. When it isn’t supported, you’ll get a download link instead.
