I may be out to lunch here but I could have sworn we could previously set a download visibility to “Visibility > Private” and that download would only appear for roles that have access to the “private” capabilities.

This no longer seems to be the case. Even as an administrator when setting a download visibility to “Private” it doesn’t show up at all. Double checked this function on posts/pages and it’s working as usual.

Is this a bug? Shouldn’t we be able to set visibility > private and anyone with the correct capabilities should be able to view the link?

What are you using to display the downloads? The [downloads] shortcode? Because this shortcode only displays downloads with the status ‘publish’

    Hi Barry,

Yeah I was using the [downloads] shortcode. Did it ever at one point allow for displaying the link when the status was set to “private”?

Like I said I thought at one point it did but I could be totally losing my mind.

    Cheers!

    P.S: Looove Download Monitor. ??

    Hey Amber,

I don’t think it did but the most important thing is it doesn’t anymore!

    Kind Regards,
