Downloaded MP3 Oddities

I set up Advanced Dewplayer on our church Web site to play and download MP3s of sermons recorded with Audacity. The downloaded files are behaving strangely on different devices:
- Windows 7 and 8 downloads the file and it works great.
- Android mobile downloads the file but music players cannot open the file.
- iPhone/iPad begins to progressive play the file but it loops at 3 minutes and starts over.
Do you know of any reason why this would happen, and is there a way to force iOS to download the file instead of doing a progressive play?
