• I recently lost all of my pictures (and information) from my computer and back up hard drive. While this is a long and unfortunate story, I now want to extract my photos from website. For some of these photos, this will be the only copy I have so I want to get it in the best possible resolution.

I have gone to ‘Media’ on the ‘Dashboard’ to try and drop/grab and cannot. I have now been going through each post individually and changing them to full size before then revisiting the public web page side and dropping them to the desktop, etc.

As you can imagine, this takes a LONG time. Is there any alternative way to save the photos in original/best resolution.

Very much looking forward to any assistance to this minor crisis I have hit.

    Thanks, Clare

  • You should use FTP, not WordPress. Alternatively, most hosts offer some sort of file manager that you could use, but FTP will probably be better.

Most hosts have guides in their knowledge base (support section) on how to do FTP with their specific setting. Try there first.

You’ll need to download an FTP client, like FileZilla. https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?show_all=1, but as I said, most hosts will include their recommendations in their guide.
