After updating to WordPress 6.2, all previously worked links of this plugin now redirect to a 404 error page. We linked local files to the button. Also checked with shortcode, but doesn’t work. It shows the following message to the admin after clicking the button.

This page is generated by the Quick Download Button plugin

You are seeing this because you have permission to edit. This page is a template use by the Quick Download Button Plugin, any other user will not see this.

When user access this page directly, they will be sent to homepage. You can rename this page as you wish.

Please check that your attributes for the quick download buttons are correct. For example the URL, when using shortcode for external link use ‘url_external’. For internal link, use ‘url’..

As an admin user – You will normally see this page when a download link fails.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

hello @thanujan2410, can you please confirm that you can access the file without using the quick download button plugin.

The error mentioned will show up if the file you are trying to access does not exist.

Can you provide me with a URL as well so I can test this with you.

    Many thanks.

Hi @kusimo! Yes, the file is accessible without using the plugin. All worked very well until the WordPress 6.2 update.

@thanujan2410, I visited your site, sorry for the issue you are experiencing. I am looking into this, I will give you feedback shortly

@thanujan2410 The problem is that the page responsible for handling the quick download button may have been accidentally deleted from your website. This causes a message saying “404” to appear.

The page doesn’t have to be called “Quick Download Button” – you can name it something else – but it’s necessary for the plugin to work.

I’ve updated the plugin. To fix the issue, you should turn off the plugin and then turn it back on again. This will create the page that was deleted.

In the future, I’ll add an option for users to choose which page they want to use for the plugin.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for using the plugin. Please let me know if you need more help, or if this solution doesn’t work as expected.
