Problem with downloads.www.ads-software.com:443

So I went to my sites to check for updates, all my sites have JetPack and WordPress SEO.

I had issues updating both plugins on my sites.

One of my sites is hosted in NameCheap, and the others in a Canadian host that is not the most popular one.

I ended up doing the old fashioned way by going to the plugins page on worpress.org and downloading the zip files, unzipping and logging to my sites via ftp and uploading the folders to the plugins folder. voila, ol fashioned updating.

This is the error message I got for JetPack:

An error occurred while updating Jetpack by WordPress.com: Download failed. Unknown SSL protocol error in connection to downloads.www.ads-software.com:443

The reason why I am making the thread here instead of on JetPack is because I got a similar message for when I tried to update WordPress SEO and the Unknown SSL protocol error in connection to downloads.www.ads-software.com:443 part

All is fine, but I don’t think this error should be happening. This is the first time I had errors.

My sites are in two different hosts, not related to each other.
Two different plugin authors, Jetpack makers and Yoast.
