    Hello

All our Draft products keep showing on our shop both on instagram and our facebook page.

How do I stop this happening. It even added a draft I just made, within seconds it was on facebook!

    Thank you for your Help.

    Hi there @wicksteads

    That’s really odd.

I have done a test on my site which is fully synced and connected to my Facebook catalog.

I created a product as a draft as you can see the status is draft and the Facebook sync status is not yet synced. As soon as we hit Update button, this will sync to Facebook:

So the issue is intermittent and happens only to some users from my experience.

We do have an open issue similar to your case.

For the time being, you can check and do the following:

    • Please ensure you don’t hit update when creating a new product
    • You can try the workaround provided by a user mitchellkrogza as follows:

    Workaround steps:
    – Deactivate the plugin
    – Add your new product(s)
    – When you are done activate the plugin and all new stuff syncs instantly

    I hope that helps!

    Hello

Thank you for getting back to me. Okay I won’t click update/draft when working on a new listing where possible, otherwise I will try the deactivating plugin whilst I work on the listings.

Originally when I first activated the plugin it uploaded all our drafts (over 100 of them) straight onto facebook/instagram. So I hadn’t clicked update with those they were already in the draft section and have been for a while.

The only way I could stop them all showing was deactivate the plugin, then added a new shop category called ‘drafts’ (not visible on our shop front) then I put all of our draft products into that category. Reactivate the plugin set it all up again (i had disconnected it) & in the setting where you choose ‘exclude category’ i set it to exclude the ‘draft’ category i made.
That worked .. but when I make a new listing and try to save as draft with the ‘draft’ category selected the plugin would not let me save as draft, keeps telling me it won’t be uploaded go change settings or category (surely that shouldn’t happen anyway as sometimes their might be a category excluded).

Could you please let me know when this has been fixed or a better solution is found. (can’t really deactivate for hours as it will lose us customers from instagram and facebook)

    Thank you

    Hi @wicksteads

Thanks for sharing more detail about your case.

Could you please let me know when this has been fixed or a better solution is found. (can’t really deactivate for hours as it will lose us customers from instagram and facebook)

Please note that when you deactivate temporarily the plugin, your products that are already synced to your shop will stay unaffected. So you won’t lose any potential customers that are looking at your shop.

As mentioned before we have an active bug report on this issue although it appears to be affecting a small portion of the plugin users.

Fingers crossed that this will be resolved soon as the developers are still investigating it.

I can confirm my solution works and it’s really not a pain either. Just disable the plugin work on your new products, publish them and then re-enable the plugin.

Glad that the workaround works for you @mitchellk ??

Feel free to create a separate forum thread if you have any other questions at all.

I tried the workaround @mitchellk offered but still, after a day the excluded draft products become visible in the customer newsfeed as automatic posts.

Just wanted to let you know, you are not aloe with this this issue.
I have reported the bug already and it is know since at least 6 months but to my knowledge, no fixing has been one so far.

I cannot replicate this problem across several environments but if it helps, the plugin will not sync products that have a Catalog Visibility set to Hidden.

Try setting the catalog visibility to Hidden to see if that has any impact on a newly created draft.

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/managing-products/#setting-catalog-visibility-options-and-feature-status

    Same problem here.

The draft is published immediately to Facebook even though the Facebook Sync setting is “Do not sync” and the FB status on the product editing page says “This product is not yet synced to Facebook”.

    This just happened. Again.

Agree with @wicksteads that deactivating the plugin is an unsustainable brute-force approach to something that is clearly affecting a number of people.

    Hi @mugwumpr

I’d suggest you create another forum thread.

Also, please try to update your plugin to the latest. In addition to that, when you create a new product, make sure you choose Do not sync before hitting the save draft/update button in the Product Edit screen.

    I hope that helps!
