• This first happened last week and now I realized my latest draft has also disappeared. I edited it around two days ago.

I figured at first that it was likely the WP DB Cleaner plug-in eating them, but I noticed the developer mentioning on the plugin’s support board that it doesn’t automatically remove drafts. I noticed my site runs a wp_scheduled_auto_draft_delete cron job, but I’d assume that doesn’t apply to drafts that I saved manually?

Has anyone dealt with the same issue and been able to figure this out? I need my drafts!

    Thank you,

    Marijke

  • Hi @sinaasappel,

If you’re running a cron job with the name “wp_scheduled_auto_draft_delete”, I don’t think it makes any difference with drafts saved manually or the ones that not, as drafts are the same in the DB however they were saved.

So, my suggestion would be to delete that cron job and to let a couple of drafts in your dashboard (one saved manually and another one automaticaly) and check them tomorrow to see if both, none or only one have been removed.

But my 2 cents to the cron job to be the origin of this issue.

    Let us know!

    Thanks for your 2 cents!

Cron job has been deleted. Draft has been saved. Let’s see what happens ??

Looking forward to know what happened with that draft ??

Sorry about the late update: the draft is still there. Now the question is just where that cron job suddenly came from, but since I’ve been messing with a whole number of plugins lately I guess we’ll never know ??

Cool! Happy to know you found the culprit of the issue!

    Have a nice day ??

Well… sorry to be digging up this topic, but I am still battling wp_auto_draft_delete on one of my websites. Whenever I delete it, it just comes back the next day!

What’s the best way to PERMANENTLY delete a cron job? I miss being able to save drafts, haha.
