On a site like mine with large number of pages (over 8800), drag and drop reorder seems to work when you are doing it. But if you leave the Tree View page to do something else, or refresh the Tree View, any page reording that was done frequently reverts to the original order.

There are definitely issues with re-ordering being unreliable, especially on larger sites. It seems that Tree View plugin is not actually updating the page’s parent and/or menu order as it goes, and loses track of the reordering it may have stored somewhere in memory but not committed yet.

IMO, the solution would seem to be to commit a reordered page immediately after it is moved, and not keep it in memory for a later commit process that might not work reliably due to memory or other issues. Or give us a “Save Changes” button to force a commit and refresh when we want it done, not just when Tree View thinks it needs to be done.

  • I have exactly the same problem and make exactly the same contacts. I do not understand why there has been no other feedback or response from the developer.
