"DreamHost" is set-up to be a "Rip-off"
-
I was in the process of wanting to set up five e-news websites using the WordPress affiliate stylewp.com which has a new download for $39 bucks for a News theme. I could not use the domains for the five e-news sites I have, because they are less than sixty days old. Since “DreamHost” was the number one recommended hosting site for www.ads-software.com, I attempted to take advantage of their free trial. The site informed me that a domain name was required, hence I decided to purchase a domain name from them, even though I did not need it. I selected a domain close to the one I already had purchased with four others through Yahoo. I might mention if you have a mistype or problem with a Yahoo domain, they gladly refund your money, no hassel, no smart ass remarks. During the process of getting the sign up for the free hosting and domain name, it seem the DreamHost program is purposely designed not to take. The domain went through, but the free trial did not. Though a series of chants and e-mail exchanges with a victor with DreamHost, they basically told me “Tough” and that they gladly sign me up, of course, without the free trial. I believe their free trial is a come-on. When I told them I would just back up the charge with American Express, they threatened me with a fifty dollar charge for attempting to do so. I guess that they don’t realize that a good customer with AmEx can put a block on a company for as long as four years. This company does not need to be on the recommended list for WordPress. They are the kind of company, by their treatment of referred customers, can do WordPress, more harm than good by way of reputation. Kick them off the recommend list!
