• Hi Everyone,

I’m in search of someone who can save my sanity, and I’m certain this is a simple solution that I have missed, but I can’t work out what.

Basically, I am in the process of moving my NAS-hosted blog to a local install on a new Windows 2008 R2 server running IIS. However, beore I move onto importing and exporting databases I have installed a default install onto my 2008 box.

Within the settings of the default install, I have set the site url to localhost, and this works without a problem.

However, when I set the home url to match that of the original NAS-hosted url, I recieve –

    “Not Found

HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.”

Port forwarding has been set up to go to my new 2008 machine (192.168.xx.xx) but alas, I cannot pick up the site.

I know the original hostname is good, because when I reset the port-forwarding back to the NAS, the blog instantly picks up again.

Therefore, I need to pinpoint where the issue lies and so need your help.

As an IIS newb, is there anything I need to configure in IIS above and beyond the defaults?

Is there anything on 2008 R2 which may be blocking the port forwarding?

    Help appreciated.
