I am using a modified Twenty-Ten theme and have made a new menu, so that I can use drop-downs. They work fine, but the drop-items are behind a youtube video I have posted on my home page. They don’t go behind the text or pictures, but only behind the video. My site is thestrategistsite.com and if you hover over “Consulting” in the menu bar, you can see what I mean, as the part of the drop-down list behind the video is not visible. The drop-down is completely visible on other pages. Any ideas?

  • That’s normal. YouTube uses a Flash player for their videos on most browsers that support it, and flash is very well known for “over riding” anything that’s above/below it. This isn’t a WordPress issue, but a flash one.

The only way that I’ve seen this fixed before was to alter the CSS values for the menu area, and make the z-index value really high. This hasn’t worked for everything though, so it can be a bit it-and-miss.

If you do a few searches, there’s a lot of info about this problem and a lot of different solutions.

Thank you for your quick response. I am new to WordPress and am trying to develop. I did a search and found a fix right off the bat. Thanx, again!!
