• I have an awful problem with Drop downs in WOrd Press in IE6.

I use a straight suckerfish dropdown with the Javascript fix for IE.

https://leafhawaii.org WORD PRESS SITE I BUILT.

It works fine in this site I did with WORD PRESS but only
in IE7, not IE6. The Dropdown menu will not drop in IE6.

It works fine in Firefox. And in Safari. AND IE7. But not IE6!

However I did this same type of coding in a site I did for a church using ORIGINAL CODE and it did work fine in IE6. But this was original code not WP.

    Does WP conflict with IE6?

https://reasontorejoice.org (This original code site works in IE6)

Why does the coding fail in WP?

This is a modification of a straight sucker fish code gotten from a list apart, modified by me.

    https://www.alistapart.com/articles/dropdowns/

The suckerfish works in IE6, IE7 and FIREFOX in original coding. BUT NOT IN WP.

In Word Press, it dies totally in IE6.

https://leafhawaii.org is the site in point.

Do not complain that it is not compliant. It was totally compliant, even with the menu, UNTIL I added in encrypted paypal button.

But even when compliant, the dropdown did not work in IE6.

I am a dying breed. I like to code my own dropdowns.

Is there a simple JS or CSS fix for this?

The is simple suckerfish. NO need to show it.
And javascript is inserted in the header using script tags in the header area.

    <script type=”text/javascript” src=”wp-content/themes/classic/javascript/dropdown.js”></script>

None of the coding is imported via php.

This works so well in IE7, and FF.

And it works wonderfully through the Manage/Page where you can simply set a page as under a parent for the dropdown.

It would be a shame if this cannot be corrected.

I just taught a wonderful man but with little computer savvy how to add dropdown menus on the website.

This is really user-friendly and IE6 is driving me nuts.
