Dropdown for product categories

  • I would like to create subcategories of my product categories and have them displayed in a dropdown on the sidebar. Such as:
    Brand (dropdown)
    – product group 1
    – product group 2
    At this moment all parents and children are always shown and displayed like this:
    Brand
    Product group 1
    Product group 2

    All widgets I have found related to categories only work with blog categories but not with product categories.

    Anyone any idea?
