  • Hi @dcrod99 ,

Did you mean that you can not create a contact form with “Dropdown” field or you have a form with a dropdown field, but the form submission data does not have dropdown field information? I tried both and everything is working for me.

    Thanks

    Hi @farjanamou

“Did you mean that you can not create a contact form with “Dropdown” field”

That’s it exactly. If I try to use Dropdown list, when saving the form, an error message appears, it is impossible to use this functionality. Either on its own in a new form, or from an existing template on WPForms.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi again @farjanamou

    For details the message said:

“Something went wrong while saving the form. Please reload the page and try again. Please contact the extension support team if this behavior persists.”

Thanks for the reply @dcrod99 ,

I think there is some plugin conflict on your site which is why it is preventing to add dropdown list to the form. You can quickly create a test sandbox site with tastewp following this link https://tastewp.org/plugins/wpforms-lite/ and you will see that you can easily create dropdowns without any issues.

Then you can create a staging site on your server and run a plugin conflict test to see if that helps.

    Thanks!

Hey @dcrod99 – Thanks for reaching out!

This error message “Heads up! Something went wrong while saving the form. Please reload the page and try again. Please contact plugin support if this behavior persists.” usually happens when the AJAX script (which allows the form to save without refreshing the page) is not being allowed to load. This almost always stems from two possible reasons.

    1) A file permissions issue. If you contact your host and ask them to reset file permissions, this should start working properly.

    2) Another reason is the security policies that are enforced on the server. It is likely that your server has Mod_security (firewall) rules that are blocking the save action of the admin-ajax request.

Your best bet to resolve this issue would be to reach out to your host to check these two points. They should be able to reset the file permission and check Firewall settings to unblock the admin-ajax request.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello @farjanamou
I did a test disabling non-essential extensions and it didn’t change anything.

I find another way using multiple choice box.

    Hello @prashantrai
Thank you for your help. I dindn’t try it at this time.
My web hosting is the same from sevral years and I use WPForms also in other website. But certainly the first time with dropdown list (!)
So I will try your suggestion later, I used multiple choice box.

    Thank you for all.
