• Hello –
My submenus, or dropdown menus, which used to appear when I moused over the main menu tabs on the toolbar at the top of my site’s pages, have suddenly disappeared. They are still showing up in my menus dashboard (under appearance) but don’t seem to be functioning on the site itself. I am using the Freelance Child theme. Any support would be most appreciated…
    Thank you!

  • Hi emnsteve,
can you post an url where we can see the problem?
Maybe a (new) plugin brings the problem? Please try to deactivate the plugins one-by-one and see if the problem is still there.

Here is a URL where you can see the problem…
    https://childrensbookhub.com/guide-to-manuscript-submission/
I do have a lot of plugins but none are new. Do you have any experience with a particular plugin that might be causing this problem?

No, to many plugins out there… so try one by one.
But on the given url I can’t find a menu anywhere?
Even all images in the content a broken?

sorry – it’s a membership site and you have to be logged in. Try this page:

    https://childrensbookhub.com/testimonials/

Yes, now I can see you menu and also, that HOME has an submenu.
Did that ever work? Because in your style.css I can’t see a associated definition?
Is it the standard WP-menu or a plugin?
What happend while testing to deactivate your plugins?

Yes, the Home category had two dropdown menus. The other ones with submenus were Teleseminars and Resources…
I have not tried deactiviating the plugins yet – I’m nervous about that, since this is a paid membership site and I don’t want to deactivate something I then can’t reactivate easily…

OK, I can understand that, but something has changed and you’ll have to find out what… a new plugin, a update or something?

When I take a look in the code of your site I find the following:
    <ul class="sub-menu" style="display: none; visibility: hidden;">
Try to delete the inlinestyle here, what happens?
In my firefox I tried that with firebug and it works…

For more help I need to see the original code or need to know if you use the standard WP-menu or a plugin…

Thank you – but I’m afraid I don’t understand what Try to delete the inlinestyle here means? and where do I find this code? in the Edit Themes section or the stylesheet?

Inline-Style is the part style="..." wich can be fixed via code or a plugin, therefor again my question: Original WP-menu or a plugin?

If you can’t change the original code or deactivate the last installed plugin or change the css, how can or should I help?
