Drops Content

  • Not *exactly* as advertised. You say, “The slideshow is also responsive and will automatically adjust for the screen it is being displayed on.” But you don’t say that it drops the display content on small screens, eg. smart phones. I would say that the slides, then, are responsive only partially.

    When I approached your help folks, they said, “The child theme has code that is hiding the excerpt for the slider on mobile devices since the text needs to be so small to display correctly on mobile. You can edit the child themes style.css file and remove the code that is hiding the excerpt, but you will also need to add code to reduce the size of the text so it displays correctly.”

    So, not 100% responsive without editing the code. Bummer.

  • Katrina, I’m experiencing the same thing. Have you found a slider that is completely responsive?

    I moved to Code Canyon’s Responsive Slider. It’s better, as it is responsive. But I’m having trouble with it loading quickly. It likes to throw a small spinny in the middle of the screen while it loads and I think that’s a major turn off in today’s two second market. So, maybe I need to work with it more to get it to load faster. It’s in the backlog for my client, but I do suggest you take a look at it.

    Another option I recommend is to add the desired content to the slide itself (using something like Photoshop) so that the content always remains on the slide, regardless of size. Of course, the font size factors in and can be a problem. I did try this approach, but I wasn’t thrilled with my results.
