Dry run flags changes, but actual run doesn't do anything

FYI the plugin “Better Search Replace” works smoothly and I actually prefer it.

@rene Reimann. I don’t know what version I used. If you released a new version since I posted, then no, I haven’t tried that. And probably won’t since I was able to get it handled another way and no longer have the specific need anymore. Thank you for following up.

same, also the site change generates SQL that would drop and recreate most tables, but without adding any data back to them. Some kind of sick joke? Good thing it doesn’t work!

Better Search Replace +++

I agree with @sn2369 Better Search Replace works (but is slow) as a replacement to this plugin (that is broken).

Same here.

1. Tab “Search & Replace”.
2. Filling both fields (“Search for” and “Replace with”).
3. Select all tables.
4. Disable “Dry run”.
5. Check ” Save changes to Database”.
6. Pressing “Do Search & Replace”.
7. Does nothing.

All my plugins & WordPress are up to date ??

we have analysed this issue and came to the point thats not a bug but a notice is misssing!
We try to prevent user for self destroy! You can’t replace a domain directly on the database on a running WordPress but you can change the tableprefix and download a SQL. At next you can import this SQL and change the tableprefix at wp-config.php

that should working.

In our case, we were trying to replace the URL of an image to a different URL, why would it be blocked?

Exemple:

to
https://static.magikweb.ca/uploads/Logo_MagikWeb_Decoupe1.png
