• I have a website hosted by one company that doesn’t have WordPress. So I got a hosting account at a second company that does. They gave me an IP address to use so I can access the new site before the DNS Servers are all switched. I used their control pannel to set up WordPress (in a sub directory called /blog).

The problem is that the installation wizard tells me everything is in https://www.mydomain.com/blog and https://www.mydomain.com/blog/wp-admin
which it isn’t really because the DNS servers for mydomain.com are still pointing to the old host.

I’d like to set WP up, install a theme etc before I switch the DSN servers but can’t seem to get in. I’ve tried substituting the IP address for my domain in the URL but that doesn’t work.

When I FTP to the new site, I can see all the directories and files it created but don’t know how to log in as administrator.

    Can you help?
