Dual Language – how can I make Featured Slider for each language
-
Hi,
I’m working on https://www.peca-ni.org, I have it set up in English and Polish, using Polylang plugin. As I understand it, there are effectively there are two sets of posts and pages. Selecting the language widget swaps between each set of content (as you probably already know). My English homepage has the featured post slider, which displays 5 posts from the category ‘Featured‘.
When I switch to the Polish version, the 5 equivelent Polish translated posts are in a category called ‘cecha‘, so they don’t display in the slider. What I want is on the English version, to have a slider with posts from ‘Featured’ category, and on the Polish version to have a slider from the ‘cecha’ category.
Obviously I don’t want both versions of the posts to show up in either the Polish or the English version.
I’m using the child theme, and I’ve looked at .po and .mo files but I don’t know what to do with them, or if they’re relevant for this.
Thank you for any assistance.
A note about the quality of translation.
For any Polish readers, I apologise for the translation! Most of it has been done through Google-translate prior to receiving proper translations from Polish contributors!
