• I use my windows computer to test my setups before installing online. Should I eliminate the current xamp installation? The info in the Windows installer info says Xamp won’t work if its added. I’m confused.

  • Not sure what exactly you’re asking here but Xamp should not have any affect on whether the site can be put online or not. Xamp is for local setup/testing, etc but should have no connection with whether you host the site online or not.

    I was referring to the Microsoft Web Platform Installer (Web PI)

    In step 1.3 it says “Once Web PI is installed, neither XAMPP nor any other web server will be able to use localhost to host a website locally on your machine. “

    Gotcha. I’m not actually familiar with that setup but based on the message you’re sharing here it looks like they won’t work together. Again, not familiar so there could be a workaround – I just don’t know what it would/could be.
