Duotone: cannot make comments on landing page

  • Hello, I am starting a new website at https://www.thelifeinaday.com using the Duotone theme. As per my settings, the landing page shows the most recent post, but without the option to leave a comment, which Duotone calls “Leave a reply”.

    If one navigates to the permalink for that page, one can leave a comment/reply, but not when that post is showing as the most recent on the Duotone theme landing page. How can I set up so comments are enabled specifically on the landing page? Lots of instructions for how to enable/disable comments globally, or enable/disable for specific posts, but nothing I’ve seen on this problem where comments can be made in a permalink but not on the landing page. Any ideas?

  • First stop with the word “landing page”, you are using it very incorrectly and it will confuse everybody including you ??

    the reason you don’t see comments on your INDEX page, is that well, it is your index page. It’s not suppose to do that. INDEX page is for all of your posts to showcase them and if someone wants to comment, they follow the link. There’s nothing wrong with your blog, you only have one post, so wait and you’ll see as you add more posts.
