• Resolved gtaretrofits

When viewing my site in mobile I receive 2 menus. The mega menu, which floats at the top, and my site hamburger menu (with mega menu functions).

Following the instructions in https://www.megamenu.com/documentation/i-see-two-mobile-toggle-buttons/ has not resolved my problems,
    – The disable box does not change anything (which was saddening),
    – My themes’ header file (Highend Theme) does not contain the described styling,
-(and I don’t know the css required to hide it).

Unfortunately the other requests on here that I’ve read have not resolved my issue either.

I’d like to remove the floating drop down megamenu and keep the original side expanding menu.

Thanks in advance for your support.

    Hi gtaretrofits,

    Thanks for posting a link.

Please go to Mega Menu > Menu Themes > Mobile Menu and set the Responsive Breakpoint to 900px (to match with your theme breakpoint). Then follow these instructions to hide our mobile menu:

    https://www.megamenu.com/documentation/hide-mobile-menu/

Unfortunately that seems to have no effect as the menu remains.

    Hi gtaretrofits,

I see you’re using a CSS caching/minification plugin. Please can you try clearing that cache? If that does not fix it, please leave that plugin disabled then get back to me here, so I can check the menu CSS (unminified).

    Regards,
    Tom

I have purged that cache many times while updating the megamenu and it has successfully purged for what I was using it for, but was having no effect for this issue.

    Hi gtaretrofits,

Please can you temporarily disable that plugin whilst I take a look?

    Hi,

I’ve checked the source CSS file:

    https://www.gtaretrofits.com/wp-content/uploads/maxmegamenu/style.css

I can see it was updated yesterday at 5pm, but the Responsive Breakpoint is still set to 600px (it should be 900px) and the CSS to hide the mobile menu isn’t in there. Please can you check you’re editing the correct menu theme?

    Regards,
    Tom

Sorry, I did set it to 900 and add that code previously but I then had to reset the entire theme due to me not being able to find a setting and it was faster to just redo some things instead of spending time looking for it so which is why I reset it.

I have now send it back to nine hundred and added that code and disabled the W3 plug in and it seems to be working now. Is it possible to keep that plug-in without and have it working?

    Hi gtaretrofits,

It’s working for me now. In fact, it looks completely different, a few minutes ago it was a menu with a large font and white background. Now it has a grey background with a smaller font, and in a different position.

You should be able to re-enable W3, just make sure all of the caches are cleared if things don’t seem to be working quite how you’d expect them to.

    Tom

Yes those were the changes I was making yesterday. The changes were seen on the computers I was trying it on. Very strange.

However this has fixed the issue. I’ve re-enabled w3 and everything seems to be working.

    Thank you.
