Duplicate Blogs

  • Hi there, I’m using Advanced Excerpt 4.2.3 and I’ve used it for a while. I’m also using Woothemes Canvas. Within Canvas there is a shortcode to list posts related to the current post based on tags. When I use the Related Posts shortcode AND Advanced Excerpt is activated the post using the shortcode duplicates within the blogroll page. If I turn off Advanced Excerpt the duplication goes. You can see at https://counselling-chorley.org.uk/blog that post ‘Finding The Right Counsellor’ is duplicated and all the other blogs are not. The duplicated post is the ONLY one with the related posts shortcode…if I use the shortcode on another post that also duplicates. My first point of call was WooThemes but when we turned off Advanced Excerpt and the duplication went they felt I should contact yourselves as they believe their code is functioning correctly (as they would ?? ), but I would agree with them on this one.     NOTE TO ABOVE: If I use a custom excerpt AND I’ve NOT ticked ‘Generate excerpts even if a post has a custom excerpt attached’ within the settings, then the duplication is resolved…BUT I get no read more link at the end of my excerpt. Steve.
