    Hello,
    I have a Duplicate Content Issue raised by the tailing slash that appears in Meta Tags on my Tag pages.

    The meta look as follows:

    <link rel="canonical" href="https://cbdkaufen.com/index.php/product-tag/vollspektrum/" />
    	...
    	<meta property="og:title" content="Vollspektrum Archive - cbdkaufen.com" />
    	<meta property="og:url" content="https://cbdkaufen.com/index.php/product-tag/vollspektrum/" />

    How can I remove the Trailing slash?

    Hello,

    By default, Yoast SEO generates a self-referencing canonical URL. The plugin does this for you, everywhere on your site: single posts and pages, homepages, category archives, tag archives, date archives, author archives, etc. If you want to learn more about why we use self-canonical, please refer to this article.

    In the page source, the canonical URL is defined with the trailing slash as:

    <link rel="canonical" href="https://cbdkaufen.com/index.php/product-tag/vollspektrum/"/>

    Having or not having a trailing slash does not really make a difference. However, if you want to create custom canonical tags for your pages different from the self-referencing canonical URL, you will have to do it manually. To remove the trailing slash, click on the “Advanced” tab in the Yoast SEO Metabox under the default WordPress content editor. You can then enter the URL without the trailing slash there. This will remove the trailing slash.

    Hello,
    Thank you for your quick answer. Unfortunately it is not quite correct as having or not having a trailing slash will deliver two different versions of the same URL. For a human this does not matter. A Machine will always crawl twice – and this goes towards your CrawlBudget.
    Just like www. or non www. URLs do. Therefore there should always be one defined URL.

    In my case I have even four crawling issues, as my crawler finds not only the

    index.php – but also the trailing slash AND the same both issues in the OG Meta. Both should not be there by default and it seems like a daunting task that I have to do manually re-configure every Tag i have on the site. This really seems to me like a bug as it happens only on Tag pages for products in the WC environment

    Is there no other way? Kind regards @maybellyne

    Hello,

    We have addressed the issue regarding index.php in your permalinks in the other thread you opened.

    We also understand that you will like to set custom canonical URLs in bulk. Unfortunately, the Yoast SEO plugin does not have the option to update the canonical URLs in bulk. In this case, you’ll need to manually update the canonical URLs one after the other.

    Thanks.
